Cafeteria Floor Plan
The cafeteria has been designed to accommodate the mealtime needs of the workers at the banana plantation.
It has a large, open eating area, a kitchen with storage space, and two bathrooms. The main opening in the cafeteria spans a distance of 29’ and is covered by a scissor truss system. That system utilized wood construction and allows for a ventilation opening in the peak.
Holding up the roof structure is a combination of reinforced concrete columns and beams. This system will also act as the main structure of the cafeteria. A cement reinforced adobe block will act as the infill between the columns. Those areas will be coated in white stucco on the exterior to help protect it from the elements and left raw on the inside.
